Aaron turns and holds him close, almost protectively. "It's okay," he assures him. "I just wanna be with you, okay? And we gotta stop trying to hurt each other."

Huaisang stiffens, just a split second, before he doesn't so much lean into Aaron as he tries to mold himself against him. "We'll do better for the next time. It won't end up like this."

"I hope not." He lets out a sigh. "Hey, those talismans you got me. They just - showed up. What are they for?"

The talismans, he'd nearly forgotten! "They keep the room lit for an evening, about eight hours, if the magic was right."

Aaron starts to laugh softly. "Shit. You're such an asshole." But it's said affectionately.

"Thank you."

An asshole who knows what Aaron sounds like during and after a night terror. He honestly and truly doesn’t want him to hurt; he wouldn’t have gone through the trouble of asking for the talismans if he did.

He lifts his head. “You’re welcome.

He gets comfortable again, feeling back to himself. "I want my bracelet back," he mutters to him, kissing along his neck.

His eyes roll back and he shudders softly at the touch of his lips to his skin. "It's...it's underneath my floor..."

"You ever gonna give it back?" he asks, holding him close.

“I can’t do it right now, can I?” he says with a pout. “Yes, when we’re back in my cabin, I’ll give you back your bracelet. It was always yours, even underneath the floor.”

"Shut up. I wasn't meaning right now," he mutters. "And I can hear you pouting. Stop."

“I’m not pouting,” he says, pouting. He sits up and runs his fingers over Aaron’s chest with a soft smile of appreciation.

“You’ll wear it, not just keep it out of sight?”

"Of course," he assures him. "As long as - you're sure you want people knowing if they ask?"

“I don’t care who knows.” He’s never cared one bit what others think about him. “Would it bother you if people asked?”

He kisses him deeply. "No. I just - it's been a long time since I been with someone who I could talk about."

Huaisang curls his hands in Aaron's soft shirt, not allowing him to pull too far away. He leans in and brushes his nose against his jaw. "Me too. But I think I'd like it if you did."

"Alright." He smiles and traces his fingers along his jaw again. "Well, after I get the bracelet."

"And after you sleep with me."

He can't be completely derailed when it comes to wanting.

Aaron laughs and draws him close again. "Yeah, I didn't use all my best charms for nothing," he points out.

"Those were your best? Oh."

He stares a little wide-eyed, clearly teasing as he searches his face, then grins and lays himself beside him.

"I've missed you. Should we...try something different?"

He taps Huaisang's nose, then hesitates. "Yeah. I - want that."

"We'll go slow," he reassures him, hooking his arms around his neck. There's no rush now that things are mended between the two of them, and it looks solid and steady. "I want you inside of me."

Aaron laughs, a bit sheepish, a bit nervous. "Alright," he says because of course he isn't going to deny him. Of course he's not going to say no.

He wants this, as much as he always does.

"Alright," he repeats, confident where Aaron is a little unsure. He presses his lips against his for a gentle kiss. "Now help me out of my robes."

Aaron sits up, taking a deep, if nervous, breath and starts to untie his robes. It's easier, he finds, if he kisses him while he does it, if he keeps himself busy.
